another birthday to celebrate...

Tanner just wanted to keep it low key this year, which was great for me since we were right in the middle of packing up the house for the big move.
He invited his two best friends and we did bowling, pizza and cake!

finally...

my almost-8-year-old finally lost his first tooth. "dentist dad" says that it's good to lose them later, but tanner didn't think so. his friend kneed him in the mouth and made it loose a week ago. since then, he has been trying for two days to pull it out. then last night, he brought jake a string and told him to wrap it around his tooth. i couldn't watch. but then about a minute later, there it was, dangling by a string.

we now have chase walking around trying to pull out his teeth, "i want money, i want money."

more bragging...

I know, I know, I brag about my 7 year old a little too much, but sometimes he really is the glue that keeps us together. So...I am sharing another story about my sweet Tanner.

Logan started soccer this year and although he loves it, he plays very cautiously because his implants constantly fall off. A few times, they have stopped the entire game to call me over and help him place them back on--which has embarrassed him a bit. My husband thought that maybe a head band would help keep the magnet on (the circle part that attaches to his head).
After a trip to the sports store with Dad, the boys came home like this...

I asked why Jake bought all three boys a headband and he told me that they all wanted one. But later that night after Tanner's game, I asked Tanner if he liked playing with the headband on. He told me, "No, it kind of itches and I look a little stupid because no one else on my team wears one. But when we were at the store, Logan didn't want to wear a headband, so I thought if I wore one, he'd want to too and not feel so weird about it." Me--(sniff, sniff). And it worked, Logan now thinks its cool and can't wait to wear it during his next game.

i love this kid!

My little triathletes...

This past weekend Tanner & Logan participated in the Kids4Kids triathlon to benefit the children at Shands hospital. It was a lot of fun & they did great!

Practicing for the big day...

I love this picture, Tanner is cheering Logan on to the finish line. After Tanner finished the race, he actually ran the last leg with Logan...

Chase, maybe next year...

An amazing invention...

T discovered a calculator tonight...

"Mom, this is an amazing thing. A machine that does math for you. I wonder if my teacher knows about these. So far, it has been correct every time! I love this thing."

That's my math geek! Love him!

Our first...

Piano Recital!

Tanner had his first piano recital this weekend. He did a great job, we are lucky to have such a great teacher, Sister Tanner!

(sorry for the nauseated filming...Logan was trying to help!)

Our conversation...

Here's how my conversation went with Tanner while picking him up from school today...

TANNER: Mom, I just had the most weirdest experience.

MOM: Why, what happened?

TANNER: This boy I didn't know came up to me and said, 'Hi, Tanner.' Then I was like, 'Excuse me boy, I don't remember meeting you. How do you know me?'

MOM: What did he say?

TANNER: He said nothing and walked away. Do you know what I think is happening here?

MOM: What?

TANNER: I think I am becoming kind of popular.

MOM: Popular?

TANNER: Yeah, you know, like that song you play in the car, 'I'll make you popular, I'll teach you what clothes to wear, how to fix your hair, everything to be popular.'

MOM: (trying not to laugh) I'm happy for you. It's important to be nice to everyone, even people you don't know.

TANNER: Well, I am almost 7. I guess it was just that time.

My budding photographer!

Note to self:
Do not leave camera within children's' reach!

This was only 7 of the 42 pictures that were taken!
This is what happens when I find the time to take a shower in a day!
