This week was Dad's Spring Break. It was a lot of fun for the boys to spend a lot of time with him. We weren't able to go anywhere too far, because Jake was on AC duty, but it was fun just relaxing and being together as a family.

NO MORE TPN!!

Chase really impressed the doctors on Wednesday with how much weight he had gained and therefore there is no need to be on the TPN IV anymore. His recovery has been better than expected...we are so proud of our little Chaser! His development is slightly delayed because of the long stay in the hospital, but he will catch up in just a few months. The broviac tube will stay in for 2 more weeks, just in case his weight drops and he needs to be dependent on the TPN again, but it looks like we are home free. It has been a long road, but we often forget about his minor health issues because of the constant smile he gives us. Having him has made life a bit more hectic and a lot more joyful. Tanner told me yesterday, "I am so glad Chase wanted to be in our family. Having the three brothers is really cool." I couldn't agree more.

Tanner celebrated his "100th day of school" on Feb. 20th. He said, "Now I'm the same as Dad, he has been to school 100 times, too" Almost, Tanner...almost!

WE LOVE THE LA ZOO!

Since ourDisneyland passes expired this month we got passes to the Zoo. The kids absolutely love it, especially Logan, since this month we've been working on animals signs. It's great to see him get so excited to do the sign for the animals he is seeing.

PLANET EARTH
There is an awesome documentary on the Discovery channel on Sunday nights. It's called "Planet Earth" Jake and I watched it for the first time tonight and have set out DVR to record the next 10 episodes. It may even be a good one to watch with the kiddies! It is on Sunday nights at 5, 6 and 7pm. It has amazing, never before seen, footage of the earth. Be sure to check it out!

The end of the road is near for Baby Chase!!

This past week he has only been on his TPN IV every other night. If he maintains his weight (which means he has to gain 3 ounces) by Wednesday, the 28th then he his done!! They will keep the broviac tube in his chest/heart for about 6 more weeks just to be sure he does not need the TPN again. If he ends up needing the TPN again and the tube is out, they will have to surgically insert it again, so...better safe then sorry!!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Jake turned 29 on March 2. We went to one of his favorite restaurants, Red Robin, with some friends to celebrate. (Chase was taking a snooze in the car seat, so he is not in the picture)
