elizabeth's day...

august 16th came and went, but we celebrated elizabeth's anniversary just being together as a family and releasing white balloons to her.  My family also released balloons in her memory.  you can see pictures from that day at the end of the video...

still in shock...

well, we found out the big news two weeks ago...it's a boy!  i honestly was not expecting that.  i thought for sure we had a little girl growing in there.  i've known with each of my 4 previous pregnancies what we were getting, so i thought my intuition was right once again.  could it of been that my heart desperately wanted a girl after losing elizabeth?  maybe.

as i sat there starring at the ultrasound screen i felt relieved that everything looked great and right on track.  of course, that was our main concern.  but then, as she told us it was a boy, i was confused.  i felt like i no longer knew who this little fetus was growing inside me.  knowing that we were told that this should be our last pregnancy, my heart ached that my chance having a little ballerina twirling around our house was no longer to be.

my 3 boys have been praying for another baby sister, i wondered how they would take the news.  T said he could hardly believe it and L and C are still in denial! :)  we had so many girl names...but are having a hard time picking the perfect name for this little guy!

we love this baby and are impatiently waiting it's arrival!  we know he will be a special addition to our family.

back to school...

a few pictures from the week...

C had to wait an extra week before his preschool started.  He was so bummed all day!  he wore his backpack everywhere we went that day...

finally it was C's turn...

when we picked him up at the end of the day this is what we found...

baptism...

the baptism towel i made for T...
right after t's eighth birthday, he was baptized a member of our church.  it was a beautiful day that was shared with family and friends.  it was wonderful to have jake's parents, his brother and sis-in-law, and my sisters travel so far to share tanner's day with him.
we are so proud of you, t and your mature knowledge of this decision that you made.

11 moves, 10 years, 5 states, 4 children, and lots of debt later...

we are done!
since the moment we said, "i do" our life has been one hurdle after another.  not only has jake helped pull us through each one, but he also managed to excel in dental school/residency at the same time.  it always amazed me how he did it all so well.

graduation was bitter-sweet for me.  it's something we had anticipated for years, but then when the time actually came it was slightly emotional.
the moment he walked across that stage, i was the proudest wife there ever was!
congratulations, honey...we love you!

his graduation dinner...

thanks, sisters, for coming to support us...
