Go Cougars!

This was emailed by my dad to some friends and family regarding my brother, Cory.

"For those of you who don't know, Cory tried out for one of three walk-on spots on BYU's basketball team. It started off with about 60 hopefuls. After 2 days of tryouts, they cut it to 12. He made the top 12 and got to scrimmage with the other 11 in the Marriott Center. Most were former Junior College players and some D-!, D-II players. Well...he made it! He now has a locker in the Marriott Center, new Cougar shoes and playing with the fellas. They also gave him two ankle braces. He thought that was the coolest part. Didn't even have to go buy them. It is a red-shirt type position, so don't look for him on ESPN, yet. Playing time will probably come next year. Unless, some of the players get hurt...but we wouldn't want that to happen (wink-wink)!"

Congratulations, Uncle Cory, there was never any doubt. You never cease to amaze me, you are (now more than ever) my sons' hero!

What started off as a joke, is now just plain creepy!

It all started when I was unable to fly home to see my handsome (just in case he's reading this)brother, Cory come home from his mission. My oh-so-funny sisters, came up with a way that I could be there.
And although it was a good idea at the time, it has gotten out of hand. The Craguns are now showing up at birthday parties and other family events (I really should be getting a paycheck for all these special appearances) and are appearing a bit creepy to on-lookers. I love that the picture can becomes versatile by just sticking a different word bubble next to my mouth, but enough is enough...can't we find a better way to feel the void of me being gone?

(P.S. the above picture also includes a BIG picture of my sister's brother-in-law who is away serving a mission...I wonder if anybody has told him that he is also being carried around like a freak show.)

Oh...and happy birthday to the cutest nephew ever!

Welcome Home, Uncle Cory!

We wish we could be there to greet you off the plane. We are thinking of you today. Congratulations for a job well done. We love you!

My Parents and 9 year old brother, Tyler, are in Poland right now getting ready to bring back my (other) brother, Cory--who has completed a 2-year LDS mission there. I have been just miserable knowing that I can't fly home to see him when he arrives home. I am from Las Vegas, and a flight from here to there...about $700. Then you add in paying for a babysitter for the boys (impossible for us all to go at that ticket price), gas to drive two hours to the airport, and overnight parking at the airport--It's almost $1000!! My brother and I have always been pretty close, considering we are about 9 years apart. I haven't seen much of him since we left for dental school (4 years ago) and I miss him terribly. As much as he'd hate to admit it, we are a lot alike. He starts school at BYU in September, but we are hoping to fly him here for a fun weekend at DisneyWorld.

This is a little video my sisters and I put together for his homecoming, feel free to enjoy. (pause music on music player before viewing.)
And watch out ladies, he's back in the game!
