while the hubbys were at priesthood session mindy peterson and i took our (combined) 7 boys out for frozen yogurt at a nearby park. they discovered some other kids "box sliding" down a big hill...so they had no choice but to join in...
i love general conference weekend. i try to make it memorable and exciting for the boys as well. i hope that it helps them listen and gain a sweet testimony of our latter day leaders and prophet.
we have a small bin of "conference legos". the boys can build things that they hear talked about. T built an awesome temple...
this was my sweetness during the prophet's talk on sunday's session. this only lasted for about 30 seconds, but it was like he knew who he was looking at--he probably did! :)
we had fun with our conference jars. each jar was filled with a goodie. every time they heard one of the words mentioned (that are on the jars) they got to take a treat out of the jar. i saw this idea on sugardoodle.org...
they were a little disappointed when they discovered that some of the jars had fruits and vegetables in them :)...
the boys' conference baskets to keep them busy...
bingo pieces for conference bingo...
notebook to take notes (or draw pictures)...
dad's basket (the "what's your guess" game is only used for the spring conference)...
mom's basket...
the conference baskets for my visiting teaching ladies (all yellow in honor of president monson's favorite color)...

What a cute idea! I am going to do Conference jars for the grandkids next spring. thanks!
I got so many similar conference ideas off Pinterest - kids loved it.
It's wonderful the priority you're making general conference in your home, it really is. But I have to wonder whatever happened to the good old days of just sitting and watching conference as a family? The kids may not pay attention to it all but they'll get bits and pieces of it and remember that it was always important to mom and dad to gather as a family for conference. I think parents now days get carried away with so much of the "stuff" that it actually becomes a distraction. Just keep in mind that sometimes less is actually more.
You are amazing! I can't believe all this work! Totally inspired for next conference : ) xoxo
Celeste, you always amaze me with your fun crafts! you are an awesome mom!!!
